they turned spike's buffysexbot into a standin buffy so that the baddies wouldn't know that the slayer was gone, and so that buffy and dawn's father wouldn't know and come take buffy away

silliness ensues with them trying to pass off buffybot as real buffy at parent teacher day at dawn's school

giles is leaving, anya(sp?) is getting antsy that he's dragging his feet about it, and wants whatshisname (her bf the name escapes me) to tell everyone that they're engaged.

but willow has a plan to bring buffy back from the dead, which she believes will not scarey zombiefy her because she didn't die of natural causes, therefore shouldn't have died

big baddie deamonguys on motercycles find out that buffybot is a bot and decide to smash apart sunnydale because it's fair game with no slayer

willow, anya, tara, and whatshisname start the ritual to bring back buffy, they get inturpted by demon bike baddies and they think the spell didn't work,
they run away from baddies
buffy is left to suddenly wake up and have to claw her way out of the coffin
she's very traumatized and isn't sure where she is

but she finally comes to her senses in time to kick some ass

so buffy's back, buffybot got torn to pieces in the process of the baddies trying to destroy sunnydale

Think about what she went through...claw/dig her way out of her own grave. Nobody around. She walks through a town that's damned near unrecognizable, totally torn up, everything smashed, fires everywhere, demons everywhere, the only normal person she saw before finding the Scooby Gang threatened her with a gun for (from her point of view) just *standing* there.

I totally understand her asking Dawn if she was in hell. I'd be pretty damned freaked, myself.

yeah kal and i were discussing that (ooh buffy discusions, aren't we deep :) )

i'm guessing she wasn't in some eternalish torment like willow was afraid she was

looked like the last thing she remembered was jumping off the tower.
then suddenly *gasp* waking up in a coffin and the whole burning town thing, yeah

i expect the whole being a slayer thing will allow her to recover from the trauma a little better, tho i'm sure it'll come up in storylines later

Well, we don't know what she experienced during the six months. Just that she didn't remember it.

And yeah, they're good about bringing up past details in future storylines, and tying everything together. Or hinting about future storylines in small details, like the time Tara deliberately messed up a demon-finding spell, which we later found out was because she thought she was one.
