this is the post you skip if you hate role playing games or posts about them, or if people who play them annoy you

this is the post you read in entirety if you like gamey stuff or are just interested in how my night went.

well first i was feeling all floaty headed because of sinus pressure so i didn't think i could pay attention to the game. so i read went and laid down in [livejournal.com profile] n00dleboy's bed and read a book and petted the MERT cat.

eventually i started feeling a bit better and came out to sit on the couch and listen.
last time we'd met a catlike (probably dark) jedi who contacted us to run a mysterious delivery for him, and the ewok(teddybear) anthony almost got us killed because he was being insolent.
well we delivered the thing for him, and were given something to take back to the cat guy

despite being warned, the fucking teddybear purposely antagonizes the cat guy again, and we once again almost got killed..... so the head guy had our jedi girl interrogate everyone (cause nobody had seen teddybear antagonize guy this time) to find out what pissed off cat guy this time. suspicion falls upon teddy bear, and despite our (the three in kinda charge of which i am one) efforts to give teddybear the benefit of the doubt, there was no way we could keep him in the group.
so we made the decision to drop off teddy at next port and be done with him.

so anthony (guy playing teddybear) is all pissy because he still doesn't think he did ANYTHING wrong or out of character or against wishes of the group, and has decided we were just all against him.
*sigh*

i'm beginning to understand why kal comes home annoyed about anthony so often.

the whole thing was very amusing, me, dave and n00dle (other two guys in charge, i'm mostly silent of a partner) jedi girl and kal (gm) all in a separate room, deciding the teddybear's fate, felt very much like we were on a reality show voting someone off.
was VERY amusing.

so anthony has to make another character, and if he pulls the same shit again, he's going to get the same reaction, and if that happens i have a feeling that he's going to be asked to quit gaming with us.
chris (he is playing jedi girl) is anthony's prime target of annoyance, since he said "well you all just took the jedi's word over mine and are giving me the boot, whatever" and chris is also anthony's ride
so there was probably much bitching on that ride home, and probably much attempts at explaining to anthony by chris about what went on.

ooooo, drama with the gamey boys.

i really don't have a problem with anthony as a person, he's amusing and often fun.
it's just him as a player that's getting on mine, and everyone else's nerves.

[Poll #25546]

Which edition of Star Wars are you playing?

Personally, I can't stand the 3rd ed. (new D20 totaly re-vamped rules by WTC) system. I flipped through the book and decided that it was just wrong...then again, we never exactly played SW out of the books anyway...but the system was simple enough to make it incredibly flexible and very fun...

I prefer 2nd ed. or 2.5nd ed. (the colour glossy book with some revised rules). I haven't played Star Wars in 3 years at least now, though...1st ed. Star Wars was the very first RPG I played, and I played with several of the same people for about 8 years...and we always kept a few of the 1st ed. rules around. 'Tis a shame that all Kal's books got destroyed...I think my best friend still has every 1st ed. book there was, whether it was purchased, or photocopied after it went out of print...and then there are the books worth of conversions we did to the system: our SW universe has everything from Mad Max type world to Tolkienesque worlds to Vampires and all types of sci fi to boot. We even took over the Enterprise D at one point. Those conversion calculations were a bitch to do, though.

It's generally always fun depending on the people you are with, regardless of the system...

I do know how that guy had to feel though. In warhammer 2000, I had to play a halfling. The bad thing about halflings is that they are easily scared, so each time we met monsters, I was prone to have another insanity/disability.
They kept me playing with delusion of grandeur for several weeks on end. So I had to play the little guy who soon thought of itself as the leader of the pack, the king, the emperor, and a diety, in that order.
Until I annoyed them all enough so they got my character killed. Next I played a human woman but they still kept on treating me as dirt, it wasn't fair really.
I was booted out of the group in the end because of a silly prank I pulled on the gm. Is kal a good gm ?
