on the list i got #1 and #2 done

it turns out the (metal) shelves in the kitchen were also dirty as well as having rust eating thru the paint
didn't get a very good picture of the ickiness but this is a general idea

so i did scrub them muchly before putting the contacT paper on each
scrubbing didn't help the rusty bits much but suppose that nothing much could.
also i did find two packs of jello in one of the very top shelves, hehe

but at least they're all nice looking now:

i is pleased.
it tired me out more than i expected, and i have not found the 2 prong to 3 prong adapter yet, but i've sat a bit and i'm pondering commencing the covering of the desk with contacT paper now
