i was thinking (uhoh)
pondering, wondering
is it possible to pick a form of insanity and then acquire it?
for an hypothetical example:
say i woke up one morning and thought "hey having an obsessive compulsive disorder sounds REALLY NEAT!" could i, in fact, become truly oc just from doing on a day to day basis what an oc would do?
and what about my near total lack of attention span?
would it be possible that i might fail and instead gain more sense of focus?
or just succeed and drive myself properly crazy
i knew a girl once who pretended she had multiple personality disorder, in reality whenever she got in trouble (from parents or say cheating on a bf) she'd claim no knowledge and blame it on the other personality, her own personal scapegoat, she's pretty much a (to use a medical term) whacko now tho. but not in the mpd sense, she gave up that game a few years ago.
