i think i just wrote my first real fan letter.
i got to thinking about that mental list of mine, i'm not much of a fan person so i've never really made any attempt to contact any of the people that are on that list, just assumed fate would let me bump into them someday
well with one of the list recently dead i figured it wouldn't hurt to write a couple letters

first one to Piers Anthony, i wrote about my list, my reasons for deciding to contact the people on my list, i wrote about how much i've enjoyed his books and how they've stretched my brain.

it'll likely sit in a pile of fan email, but at least i wrote it.

Terry Prachett doesn't seem to have an email but discworld.com is copyright him with an under construction picture.

down the list, the search continues.
mouse once said she had Stephen King's phone number, to be honest i'm mildly afraid of him, hehe

i guess the scarey stuff that comes out of his head has translated into a mild fear of the man himself for me

I wasn't afraid of Stephen King until I saw him hawking his new book on Wal-Mart TV. Well, ok, when I saw his trailer for Maximum Overdrive, I was kind of scared too.

I did write him once, way back in the neverwhen, and got a postcard reply. I hadn't even read any of his books (still haven't, actually) but he was picking up steam then and I thought it was cool that he would respond to an obvious kid's ramblings.

Terry Pratchett hangs out on the forums at lspace.org sometimes (or used to), and at alt.fan.pratchett (I think). Don't expect any kind of reply from him if you do write though, he's not overly concerned about his fans these days :o(
