Doctor, Doctor, gimmie the news ...

So, I had started an entry here before leaving to doctor's which I forgot.

In which I was basically whining that I thought this doctor's appointment was pointless and wishing I'd rescheduled it till after surgery. Since I only just have a cold, I felt silly even going. But did say better safe than sorry.

Well I don't have a cold, even though it may have started out that way. Apparently because my streps are no longer fully going away, it leaves me open to secondary infections, so that plus a little cold turned into a mild bronchial infection. I insisted that this is how my colds always are and he informed me that maybe they start out that way, but if these are the same symptoms I have every cold, then they're not colds.

Since I usually get over them on my own he's pretty sure it won't get worse, but since surgery's in 8 days, it's not worth the risk, so he prescribed a before-surgery-friendly antibiotic and told me that next time I have just a common cold with these same symptoms that I better see him and not just tough it out.

So by the time we dropped off that script at the pharmacy it was too late to make it over to the surgeon's office before it closed. So I'll try tomorrow. But at least I got doc and pharmacy done. Cause I had two scripts waiting for pickup at pharmacy anyway.

Someday I would like a doctor's appointment which does not result in MOAR DRUGZ, plsandthankyou.

I'm glad you got it checked out. The last thing you want is to have an active infection when you go into surgery!

Yeah, seriously. It's just a normal cold to me, but I felt kinda silly when doc said "You didn't think it was weird that you got a bad 'cold' right after a bad strep infection?" I said "No, that happens a lot." and he just stared at me.

I'm feeing suddenly and significantly better in the last two hours (Took the first antibiotic right when picking it up, hours ago.), so I guess he was right.
