On getting older.

One of the things I was told as a kid that annoyed me THE VERY MOST, is one of those things that has turned out to be the most true.

Just wait it out, give it time. There are so many ridiculous things that seem life ending, WORLD ENDING, even. At the time you feel like nothing will ever change, that everything will always suck exactly that much. Weirdly, being sick so much helped me learn this too. No matter how much some current bacterial infection, or a breakup, or a fight, or even someone you care about very much dying, hurts RIGHT FUCKING NOW ...

Just wait.

Some things, obviously, like death of a loved one, still always are part of you to some point, but eventually it gets better ... easier.

I avoid actually handing out this advice because I knew how very much it once pissed me off to hear it. Because when you're really in wallowing miserable world, the last thing you want to hear is something that translates to you at the time as GET THE FUCK OVER IT.

The older I get, the more friendly I become with the passing of time.

Hah! Nonono, it's been on my mind in recent years, but what triggered this ramble, specifically, was a bunch of ridiculous relationship drama in another corner of the internet, just all the OMG HE/SHE DUMPED ME MY LIFE IS OVER OMG! etc. etc. etc.
