Went to bed early, had lovely sound sleep for about 3 hours, and woke abruptly and couldn't get back to sleep. Fuck you, insomnia. I should ask my doctor, when next I see him, for something to help with that.

Anyhow, as some of you know, I am an apostate SDA. However being raised in the religion and almost exclusively only associating with other SDAs till I started college, I still have friends who were or are still in the church.

Since My Mother got me on Facebook, most of my her side of the family has friended me, and also a few of my old SDA/FormerSDA friends. So I've been in a little discussion on one of their status updates regarding the food.

Firstly, I don't consider myself a vegetarian, there are just some of the fake meats I prefer to the real. I can, and do, get Grillers and Chik Patties from the regular store. And I intend to start buying cases, a few times a year, of Big Franks from Amazon to stock my cupboard up with. Real hotdogs are something I could just never get used to after being raised with Big Franks.

Since there isn't, apparently an ABC in Nevada (the physical stores sell food products as well as all the propaganda you see on the site) this ended up with me searching for the SDA churches here in Las Vegas, cause sometimes individual churches will run little temp ABCs in their common rooms or basements once a week. None of them have such a thing listed on their site, though a couple of them have email contacts.

I'm considering emailing them to ask this. The one category of food product I miss that is ridiculously hard to find outside of church-run stores, are the various lunchmeats. Which are the other thing, along with hot dogs, that I never can get used to the meated varity.

I'm stupidly nervous that emailing them will give them the ability to trap me somehow.

COME BACK TO THE CHURCH, WE HAS DELICOUS SOY LUNCH MEATS.

Straight out of the can!

An ex of mine was very distressed at seeing me eat "raw" hotdogs, but he had me boil his real ones, which I found very distressing as well, and stinky.
