I hadn't intended to make any public posts on this, I've been watching that election game all day, and as you probably already know, it was just really quickly won.

The reason I'm posting, though. is that I was terribly terribly impressed with McCain's concession speech. It was fabulously gracious and seemingly very sincere. Sorta made me want to hug him.

So, Congratulations to all parties, it was a crazy race, and the country made a pretty decisive choice.
So much nicer to have a quick, clear victory, than more drawn out craziness.

My parents were alive during the end of the civil rights movement, and now we have a black President.

Whether you like him or not, holy crap we just made history.

I felt that McCain's speech was a very good speech - a lot of the guy I voted for in 2000 was back. Too bad the people he had to sell out to were booing him every time he said something nice about his opponent or about going forth in unity. Ah well, them's the breaks.

My comment was pretty much identical to this. It's a shame he got burned down in 2000.
