Bang Bang.
Sep. 20th, 2008 03:32 pmWent out into the desert today to make shooty with friends. It is apparently a popular spot, it was really dirty out there which was sad, trash everywhere, casing and shells all over. And for some reason several sweaters. Anyway, here's a nicer picture of the area with not so much trash showing.
And here's my hand holding a GUN! I only shot this little guy, and a rifle.
The 9mm was loud and scared me, so I'm not up to that yet. This little revolver was a lot of fun though.
One of our targets that I got to keep. I don't even know if this was one I was shooting at, or if it was,
if I even hit it. Let's pretend those are my shots in the middle there.
I kept some casings. The bigger ones are from the gun I didn't shoot this time,
the little ones from the little revolver that I did shoot.
I have come to the conclusion that I need to get my butt to the eye doctor and get new glasses. My old ones I can still see with, but they give me a godawful headache after just a few seconds of wear. So I don't wear them at all anymore. And shooting was lots of fun and I'd like to get much better at it, but this sorta requires being able to see what I'm trying to hit.
It was fun, and additionally I was glad to have gone with people that knew what they were doing, made me less jumpy about the whole thing. I've always been very pro-gun, but I am easily frightened by loud and sudden noises, which makes me more nervous and jumpy around guns more than the whole potentially deadly aspect.
I hope I called the guns and stuff by their right names, I'm sure someone will correct me if I didn't.
