So, as you may or may not know The LHC fired its first test beams earlier today, judging by the fact that I am still existing, I say huge success. Now we'll just wait and see what happens in October when they start actually colliding. M C Hawking has bet a hundred big ones that the Higgs will be unfound, we shall see, indeed.

So, last night, while having trouble sleeping it suddenly occurred to me that it was probably about that time over in CERN country. No matter how old or grown up you think you are, everything is still way more significant in the middle of the night, in the dark, while sleepless. Ideas and concepts just have more MASS during times like that. I was completely terrified for a few seconds that that exact moment could be the last few moments, in ever. And then I got over it and went back to sleep.

So, Has the Large Hadron Collider destroyed the earth? heh.
