Ok, I know it's been a monthish since the series two finale aired, and a couple weeks since I finally watched it, man.

I needed to recover.

SHUT UP, TV IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Ok, so I KNEW we were going to lose Owen before the series was out, but Toshiko TOO? Well, we already technically lost Owen. How long could they drag out the walking dead guy thing, seriously? Plus they were apparently having trouble keeping up the continuity, as he could no longer heal, had busted his hand, and suddenly there's no bandage on his willneverheal hand? Come on BBC, you're better than that.

Yay for flashbacks in pt1, finally some back story, especially glad that they're really fleshing out Ianto I like him lots. yay that John isn't a big baddie, and that he'll be coming back in series 3, allegedly.

Gonna miss Toshiko, the whole final Owen/Tosh death sequence was the saddest thing ever, and the second time ever that a tv show has made me misty eyed, the first being the loss of Rose in Doctor Who.

Speaking of Rose ... nevermind, Doctor Who is a whole other, much longer blather.

Seriously, they can't kill off their main cast. They worked so well together.

The nature of a show based on Jack would have to involve a certain amount of death, the whole highlander issue.

I really didn't think they were going to let Tosh die, once she survived the talking Owen through till his end I thought she was in the clear.

I suspect that after she recovers that Gwen will step back into the second in command role, Ianto's going to be more important of a team member ('bout time, get someone else to make the coffee!) and that Martha may be taking Owen's place.

I really like the whole Rhys being aware so Gwen can talk to him about stuff thing, and him as the bumbling sidekick once in a while, but I don't think that shtick is going to work very long.
