A few words about racism.

I've been doing a lot of random community wandering recently,
came across several discussions which have brought up many things in my head
And I have something to say to everyone who ever has and will get offended at anything I say on the topic of racism based on how pale I am and what you ASSUME my personal history to be, ethnic or otherwise, based on appearance. And also everyone who's ever started shit with me when I've said/done nothing, based on the above assumptions.
Firstly, fuck right off.
Secondly, think back to every time you've felt discriminated or mistreated or had things assumed about you due to (insert your race, creed or religion here). And realise that you're doing the same damn thing.
I am not the "white" you assume me to be.
I am not a satan worshiper because I wear more black than you find appropriate.
I am not a drug addict because my hair is purple.
etc. etc. etc.
I am not belligerent about topics of discrimination because I'm some white girl who grew up privileged and among only my own people, and just don't get it.
I'm belligerent because I'm tired of decades of people assuming so.
You don't know that some of my ancestors were in this country before you knew the damn continent even existed.
You don't know that I grew up a minority, you should see my second grade class picture, talk about a sore thumb.
You don't know that I was taught that everyone outside The Church had no morals or conscience, and what was an 8 year old to think when the other kids In The Church treated her badly enough for her skin being a different colour?
Yes, I have what is considered to be an offensive sense of humor,
partially because I decided long ago that it's better to laugh at it all than to take any of it personally.
Just fucking stop and think next time you make a snap judgment,
purely based on appearance and assumptions.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Matt 7:3
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. Rom 12:13
