i see myself in you.

is this narcissistic,
is it even more narcissistic that i could say that to several people?

am i looking for myself in other people?

Well, it depends...

I can't imagine you look for an exact duplicate of yourself when evaluating friendships, so my first impulse is to say "no." After all, the best friendships flourish when the people in question have common viewpoints concerning the things that really matter to them.

I see something similar in myself...when I look at friends, and in fact people that I look up to in general, I usually see a reflection of something I want to be or am striving to be. I'm one of those people who's driven to be successful in life, and from what I've seen, one of the keys to success is to emulate the styles of people who already are. Works for me anyway :-)

In short, I see nothing wrong with your looking for yourself in other people. After all, there's so many people in this world, it's easy to feel lost in the crowd, so it's nice to see something familiar in someone.

(God, I hope what I just wrote makes sense. If not, I blame lack of sleep. It's my story, and I'm sticking to it!)
