wireless HOOOOOO!

So I bravely ventured forth into the apartment of hell, though it is not as hot as the outside, as we left the windows open over there, and our windows are shaded, it's still uncomfortable after more than a minute. I moved the router up a bit higher, and pointed its antenna over to apartment two, also retrieved some drugz while there.

And now I HAS INTERNETS over in the lovely, climate controlled, apartment two.

Also brought the little one over last night, also. I'm sure she would have been fine, but in my experience I've noticed that the littler ones seem to overheat easier, and she's been an indoor beast all her life, unused to much hotness. So, again, even though I was sure she'd be ok, I would have worried. I feel much better with her over her. Strange beast waits till I'm using the toilet till she'll use her litter box though.

As appreciative as we were of the free use of next door apartment before, it's doubly so this time. Last time it was just annoying, and we would have been fine as it was barely hitting 80°(f) last time. It's currently 104°(f).

Ordered some Thai, watching some IFC, must call the father.

Lazy Sunday, J's off doing his last 4 hours of OT to bring him to 60 total hours this week.

Stupid insomnia.

I did this last time on the day of a/c fixy.

This time I thought I'd avoid it, I didn't read, I went right to bed ... then I laid there, for 3 or 4 hours, gave up and got online a bit trying to fix it, tired as all hell, can't fall asleep. So I'm pretty much screwed now, fixy guy will probably do his thing at about 9-10am.

I have to do things in certain order, and I have to run the list over and over in my head to make sure I've it right.
This keeps me awake, damnit.

I'm just going to read now, and wait.

Well, I'd like to say this was unexpected, but it really wasn't.

Fixy guy went up on the roof, and the a/c unit appears FUBAR'd, apparently. They're going to try a few things over the week, but it seems like it's just killing time as they're waiting the, possibly several weeks, for an entire replacement unit to arrive.

So, in this week, we're to vacate apartment one, the original, and move next door into apartment two.

They're not charging us the usual transfer fee, and also giving us the whole week to move rather than the usual 24 hours that apartment transfers get. We intend to move very orgainised-ly, and not settlesettle and hope maybe we can finagle moving into one of the townhouse units out of this, if one's available. Townhouse = 50 sq feet smaller, $100 cheaper, two levels, and TWO BATHROOMS. Oh luxury of luxuries it would be nice to have two bathrooms again. Also, there's still a lot of stuff I never sorted after we emptied storage, most of which should probably be thrown away, also we can make some better decisions on how much of their furniture we actually want to keep in whatever apartment we end up it. Which should all end up with much more space than before. Easier to orgainise with less stuff.

So it turns out my insomnia was for the best, as I'm going to have to be packing up an apartment with no a/c, the best time to do so is at night, so nocturnal goes eris.
