Religiosity

When I get bored I end up in wikipedia.

Today I ended up reading about the religion in which I was raised.
Seventh-Day Adventists
My father is, by far and away a Progressive Adventist, he is very liberal, pro-choice, and an advocate of gay rights,
and while he believes that his God created the world in 7 days,
he holds no definite idea on how long (or short) ago such a thing happened.
My mother leans more to the side of an Historic Adventist.
Although I'm pretty sure she thinks of Ellen White as a well meaning crackpot with a few good ideas,
and not a prophet.

This is the main issue which earns SDAs being referred to as a cult,
the fact that they have a prophet, Ellen White,
and being lumped in with Mormonism.
Along with the fact that there are rumors that Ellen White plagiarised much from Joseph Smith.

Lovely, but that's neither here nor there, if you're really interested just do a google search for:
"seventh day adventist controversy" and you'll get a ton of sites, mostly about Ellen White's craziness.

The point of this is, I'm curious,
Were YOU raised in a religion?
Are you still in it, was it crazy weird, or just normal weird?

I just found out that one of my oldest online friends was sorta raised in the Bahá'í Faith
