I mean. Okay, I am in a desert. Am I lost? Am I starving? Do I need water? Are vultures circling above? How long have I been walking?
If I am walking la te da, full tummy, going to a specific place, fully moisturized and sunblocked, full hydrated, and come across a big cord with nothing more than a PULL ME to persuade me, then NO. I probably would not pull it.
However, it really all depends on what mood I am in. If I am heading somewhere I really don't want to go, such as THE DENTIST, then yes, I may say to hell with it and pull the goddamned thing.
Different situations affect my choice of pulling or not pulling.

I'd pull it in a heartbeat. Let's face it; if you're wandering around in the desert for God knows how long, life's bound to get a bit dull...pulling the cord is probably the only chance of having anything dramatic happen.

Besides, being in the desert is bound to make a person thirsty. Perhaps pulling the cord will reselt in a few clouds being ripped open and a sudden downpour of rain.

Actually, this whole situation smacks of Alice in Wonderland...
