When J is cranky he appears to be convinced that everyone is arguing with him,
it's very confusing, it's like hearing only one side of a conversation.
Suddenly he's responding at me like I insulted him,
and I haven't a clue what's going on.

Once I figure it out it's amusing,
but at first it just confuses me to death,
feel like I joined a show already in progress.

I had a roomate once that got up every morning and grumbled angrily about the apartament, he was totally convinced everybody was talking about him behind his back.

In school I had to read Moby Dick and I got WAY more out of that book the second time around, well a friend of mine is a literature phenom so I was discussing the book with him.

This lead to him grumbeling every morning "its just about a fish" " a fucking fish" this went on untill he would work himself into an emotional frenzy, slamming doors and cabinants.

Of course this lead to us all talking about him behind his back.......self fullfilling prophet he was!!

Go ahead and laugh, what I described was just one minor example of the drama he exuded. At first me and my friends tried to be compassionate. He really did have a problem. But he got progressively worse untill he sucked every bit of fun out of every social setting. When my lease was up, I walked in the apt and said you move or I'll move. He did.

I had a friend who would argue with me, and about 2 minutes into the increasingly heated argument it would become clear they were arguing the *same* side of the argument as me. I would be like, "wait, wait, WAIT, STOP! You can NOT argue with me if you agree with me! Aaargh!"

Used to send me right off the edge. Not sure what pissed me off more, them not realising they agreed with me, or myself for letting myself get sucked into the argument in the first place. Maddening.
