The trick is, maybe, to not find something new to look at,
but rather, find new ways to look at things you've already seen.
Or even, perhaps, to realise that sometimes you've seen something so much
that you've never really seen it.

For example, why do most prints of the last supper,
add a gold challis at Christ's left hand?
When there is really just another cup and a bit of bread there in the original?
Also most people, if asked from memory,
would tell you that the chalice which they believe to be in the painting is there,
and it's allegedly the holy grail.
And if asked who's in the painting they would say Jesus and the 12 apostles.
Funny, I see 11 men, 1 woman to Jesus's right, and Jesus.

Existential blah aside,
perhaps there's a new way to look at the inside of my eyelids.

The "woman" there is the APostle John. It was typical to have one archtype "student" in paintings of the time. The Student was often shown you, very smoothfaced, almost feminine. The reason being was that they were still young in the ways of the world and had not aged fully into men. Ask any art historian about the concept of the young student in paintings of hte time. :)

I was going to say the same. That's not a woman. The reason the painting is often altered for popular distribution, is because they are trying to make it different enough from the painting as to not disrespect the masterpiece that is The Last Supper. And biblically, the cup Christ used during the last supper was saved and was the very same that caught his blood from the cross. It is in fact, the Holy Grail.

Well Mary Magdaline was there because she was Jesus' chick. Think about it Jesus' dad knocked up his ma then when they came to stone his ass they came up with the immaculant coception deal, and those superstitious bastards believed them. Then he married her just to make sure he didn't get stoned. When the Catholics put the bible together in the 4th century ( still some debate as to when, but sometime around then ) they omitted anything that would show that Jesus was imperfect like years 12-30 because that is when guys are rebelois and destuctive, So anyway Jesus either begins to believe the hype and develops a delusion or he decides to go all con-man and make a bundle, after all carpentry is hard work. But he needed a chick because he was horny so he started bangin' Mary Magdaline and that was perfect because he could pay her to keep hushed up or maybe he loved and married her, could be either but it's one of the two. Now all the superstitios bastards of today are running around 2000 years later and saying its the end of the world. BLAH BLAH BLAH
