regarding the news
if you know me pretty well this will sound familiar:

you: "hey eris did you see that thing about the thing on the news last night?"
me: "I don't watch that show"

well TV has been left on from earlier
because we're cooler than you and don't have a job with set schedules anymore
we've been up all night.

REGARDLESS
i've been listening to it out of the corner of my ear
(corner of my what?)

and so far all they're doing is ...
wait for it ..
*drumroll*

REPEATING THE FUCKING INTERNET!

they reported on gas prices and cited the site they'd collected the information from
there are other examples
but I'm trying very hard to forget and not listen

they also reported on that stupid hunting over the internet site
like it was new, and exciting news.

reminds me of galaxy quest
when gwen's only job was to repeat the computer.

"Look, I have ONE job on this lousy ship. It's STUPID, but I'm gonna do it, OKAY?"

i don't remember the url but i actually first saw it on the daily show

guy has set up a cam and a remote control thing attached to a gun
for a fee you can shoot the gun from the safety of your own computer

So if the gun shoots someone that happened to walk in front of it... who's to fault? The guy who set up the gun? or the person that hit a key on the keyboard to fire it?

i *believe* it's only the guy who runs the site that lives out there
and that the shooting bit is fenced off.
and also that his property is in the middle of nowhere

all i know is what i saw on the interview with him on the daily show
that's where i get my news :)
