some background on the Curtis
he is seventh-day Adventist, raised.
he is very active in his church, and on the "religious liberties" committee

he is democrat
he is liberal
he is FOR GAY MARRIAGE AND LEGALIZATION OF DRUGS AND PROSTITUTION.

Curtis is straight, does no drugs, will never hire a prostitute
it's just very cool to know that if it ever gets to the point where my lifestyle is threatened,
that my father will be behind me.

just when i think Curtis can't get any niftier.

personally i don't think any church or government needs to approve of my love to make it valid
as far as i'm concerned i should be able to say i marry you, and you say you marry me, and that's that.
however i still think that gay marriage is an important issue
from the standpoint of
(forgive my use of an overused phrase)
"raising public awareness"

if queer and poly have equal marriage rights then that's a step toward acceptance or at least better tolerance.

i didn't come to a very good point
my point is just i'm proud of my father for being who he is
no more, no less.
