i am part of the grammar whores community, but i don't always do the speak proper all the way myself :)

but i was JUST ranting to my mother about a few mistakes which irk the fuck out of me
(what is an irk?)
and i skim through like 4 past days of livejournal and suddenly see them more than once

again people, it goes like this;

They're going to the store.
The dog took the bone over there.
Their porch is somewhat messy.

if you want to get something off your chest you "Speak (or say) your piece."
when you decide things are best kept to yourself you "hold your peace"
not the other way around so quit doing it, speaking one's peace makes no sense
and holding one's piece is well ... rather dirty sounding

and for once and fucking all it's DOG EAT DOG WORLD
not DOGGY DOG WORLD
jesus fuck people!
unless it's a snoop dogg album, in which case it might be rather witty.

get it through your heads.

I knew that I was in the right track when I picked you and put you in my friends list.

In my town I'm a masked vigilante: the Orthographic Avenger. When it's late I go around correcting signs with a permanent marker and deeds like that.

I'm very aware of the mistakes people often do and I'm surely interested in the mechanisms of the error.

I'm glad I'm not alone in the crusade for a uniform language. Change is good, but it has to happen in an ordered way, don't you think?

I hate when people put the preposition 'of' after a modal verb..
I should of gone... He could of eaten...
