in no mood to actually start a discussion
Oct. 13th, 2000 04:22 ambut however feel like babbling
and also i know NOTHING about artvamp as a person so i don't know if i'd just get flamed
sometimes her writing is just odd and i don't pay much attention sometimes (as now) i'm intrigued

Perhaps there are rare cases in which monogamy is actually happily practiced, but I don't know of them. Exclusivity often implies possession. "I am yours, you are mine." Resist ownership (with the exception of willing slavery)."
i agree basically yet i'm struck by something, it seems possession is a no no except in 'willing slavery'? is there not a compromise between "i don't posses you" and willing submission? i'm not sure i GET the idea that each extreme is cool/ok but nothing in the middle is?
perhaps that most people possess in a bad way, forcible control? ok i can see that
the average female that i've known has a horrid tendency to lose herself when she belongs to a partner (becomes possessed as it were), not be able to stay her own person, sucked into the other person, that bothers me, and yes i've done it, oddly enough i haven't really seen that in "willing slaves"
and i don't see it in me and people have said they don't see it in me, people who have seen me do the stupid chick thing when dating
i feel possessed by and taken care of NOW, but somehow i haven't lost ME, and i guess to me that is the best indication that i am actually happy in this relationship
i really like Fade's definition of(goodgod i can't remember if it was monogamy or another word now), i probably can't say it right, being that one is loyal to who one is with, no matter who or how many.
now i've kinda lost my train of thought, HA
i haven't made any conclusions and i don't REALLY disagree with what artvamp said, it just made me think
:D maybe i'll post in response to her that i posted about it, i just didn't think i should go into a personal babble as response, as it looks like i did :)

Wow ...
That's amazing ... I have had more relationships than I can count dissolve over just this ... the gal would suddenly FREAK over "becoming just some part" of me. Frankly, to my knowledge, I've never played any "head games" trying to DO anything like this with others, it's just how "I am" ... freaky stuff. See my post over in Artvamp's (http://www.livejournal.com/users/artvamp/) journal (same post as you're referring) which touches on this!
