somebody on my list has got to know an answer to this.
if not, or if i'm posting this at an unnoticed time maybe i'll try that askmeanything community

anyway

what's a good way to stick cd's to wall? in a way which won't damage the wall?
i've got a shitload of those free aol cds and i wanna kinda make like a mirrored ceiling sort of deal with them .....

oooh i also had another idea, to make sort of a hangy divider thingy with some too, i suppose i could use fishing line type stuff to string them together, hey that's an interesting idea, much safer around cats than a beaded curtain
hmmm

but how to stick to ceiling without them falling on me while i sleep??
????
???
??

Ya get blu-tack... dunno what they call it in the US... its kinda like gum, that people hold posters up with... anyways, use that. It doesnt damage anything.

i know of the sort of thing which you speak, but will it keep them from falling on me .... well it's rather the sort of thing one also uses to stick those glo-in-the-dark stars up so i would expect it could hold cds

hmmmm

It wouldnt be 100% fool-proof, but it would do. Yea, a couple might fall every now and then. It's hard to get anything to hold up suffiently w/o ripping paint off but double-sided sticky tape might be the best bet. If you intend on keeping the CD ceiling for a while, then you might as well because you'll have to re-paint in a while anyways.

I would think your best bet would the that sticky wax stuff that they used to have on the back of "no nails" picture hangers, but I can't find a trace of that on-line, so this might be one of those "old fart" remembrances of a product that's no longer out there (happens to me all the time)! ... I guess the putty (http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=402669&location_info=SG_1_DV_11_CT_1101_SC_1101001_FM_322_SK_402669) stuff would be your next best bet. Frankly, CDs weigh so little, that once you get them stuck, I doubt there'd be much falling down involved.

There are also the 3M™ Command™ Adhesive Products (http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure/command/) which have little strips (http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure/command/products/mountingstrips.jhtml) you could use.

I'd go with a nail gun. Yes, it will damage the ceiling, and probably shatter the CDs into thousands of tiny pieces, but you get to play with a nail gun.
