I just looked down at a paycheque stub sitting on my lapdesk and noticed that the address is Stoneridge Dr.
A) heeeeeeehehehehe
2) Only one R? Like Souplantation? So it would be improper to say Stoner Ridge? Stoner ... idge. wut.
3) I want to set up my IRS payments to come out of my Wells Fargo savings, but I don't know that account number, since I let the original savings account close for a while, then opened another online several months ago. I don't WANT to have to figure out how to get that, since IIRC from my days working for a bank, I probably have to go actually TALK to someone at a branch.
D) I now have two chequing and two savings accounts, Wells Fargo and US Bank. Wells checking is for my mturk/paypal/silly stuff, Wells savings is for my taxes, US Bank chequing is for my LF paycheques, and US Bank savings is my personal savings.
6) I don't know what to NAME my USBank accounts! Wells accounts are Bob (chequing) and George (savings). These are my go to names! I can't give them the same names or I'll get confused.

(I work at a bank call center, incidentally)

Date: 2011-05-28 04:38 am (UTC)As long as I can verify your authority on the account, I can give you any info you ask for, because it's all YOUR info, and by law you have access to it. One of the more common calls we get is to request the bank/routing/account numbers for direct deposit etc.
Bah and double bah.

One thing that gets me is privacy law, and not revealing anything on 3rd party accounts. Apparently, after a strong disagreement with my manager a few months back, if someone gives us a third party account number (to do a transfer) AND the name on that account, we are allowed to confirm that 123456 is Bob's account, on the grounds that they clearly already possess that information.
My manager is awesome, and LOVES being challenged on shit. We spent 15 minutes arguing about that above item (my understanding had been that we CANNOT confirm anything on 3rd parties, period.)
After going back and forth, he offered to take it to the Privacy Officer if it bothered me that much. So we did, and it came back with an all clear.
I love that I can look my manager in the face and say "You're wrong" and his response is "Really? Crap. What's the answer then?" rather than some power trip.
