That's the way the cookie crumbles.

After years of invites to BBQs when we didn't have a car and J didn't have the day off and I/we didn't want to get a ride from someone cause that was getting increasingly awkward, apparently nobody we know is doing so today. The first holiday in ages that we have car, and he has the day off.

This is also the first Memorial Day in a long time that I actually knew it was coming up for about a week beforehand, instead of it suddenly being a holiday without my permission. Usually I don't notice till there's no postal mail and friends posts keep saying "holiday" in them.

I read two books yesterday. The Last Theorem and Brother Odd. And I may or may not be tired of reading for a bit. Too bad we didn't think to get stuff to have our own BBQ.
