Maybe I'll just watch the FOUR HOURS of BSG I have to catch up on now that it's over.

Or maybe not, that seems like something I won't be able to stop once I start then it'll be past 4 am and I'll be hallucinating cylons everywhere.

YAWN

Wow I'm tired, today. I guess the week has just caught up with me.

Someone finally bought the place next door, I don't know how long it's been empty since it was empty when we moved in, and neighbourlady said it'd been a while and she couldn't remember how long.

So obviously it needs a lot of work, so they've been working on it all week, starting exactly at 9 am. Unfortunately they're next door on MY SIDE. I've been trying to adjust my sleeping schedule to mesh with their home improvement schedule so I'm not being constantly woken up by hammering and such. But between this stupid cough and its friend insomnia, I haven't succeeded all that well.

I can't exactly go bitch at them since they've really been careful about only working from like 9-4, which I hope means they will be pleasant and courteous neighbours ... unless they rent it out, in which case I hope they choose good renters.

Did I mention I'm tired? Yeah.

Plus I slept oddly and somehow squished my nose and it is ouch. WTF nose?

At grocery this weekend I thought that I'd make myself a big batch of cabbage soup for the week, so I looked at a few recipes on my fon while there, and got stuff.

Since my appetite doesn't seem to be returning after sick I figured I needed to make something that was fairly healthy and easy to fetch from kitchen. Soups from a can are terribly expensive for the amount you get and like 5000% sodium, I just can't stomach 'em any more.

This is the recipe I'll be using as a guide, and I only just noticed, when I started this entry, that in the description it says "This wonderful soup is perfect for Sunday afternoons!"

So I wasn't sure if I was going to do it now or tomorrow but I guess it's telling me that I have to do it now.

The modifications that I'm currently intending on making to this recipe are as follows:
Doubling the recipe (as I'm going to freeze some)
Got Mexican-style instead of Italian-style of stewed maters.
Will be using Bill's Best Chick'nish Seasoning instead of chicken bouillon in order to make it a vegetarian soup.
Got a red onion instead of a white, cause I like 'em.

The addons I'm intending so far are as follows:
A whole bunch of cilantro, chopped fine. Will decide if I'm adding the entire bunch or not as I go.
Some mushrooms. I wanted to get portabello but was too pricy. So just regular, chopped small.
And any addn'l spices that seem appropriate as I go.

The soup.

I didn't end up doubling the recipe cause I didn't have as large a pot as I'd thought I did. Which ended up being good cause even though this soup is tasty, there's definitely things I'll change next batch.

I added lemon juice, I only ended up using a fourth of the onion instead of half cause it looked like a lot, but I think I should have used half. I didn't use very much cilantro cause it looked like a lot more than it was.

Next batch MOAR CILANTRO, MOAR ONION, maybe little more garlic.

There's a full tupperware guy in the freezer and one in the fridge, and soup in my bowl for now.
SOUP FOREVER.
