In the category of things I've been made fun of for eating, is the inside-out burrito. I mix up burrito insides and then eat it by scooping it out with tortilla bits. Also useful cause if I don't finish it, I'm not left with a bit of burrrito, I'm just left with insides that I can put in the fridge for later.

Crazy Internet Guy has a sick cat, and begins posting about it.

Crazy Internet Guy and His Female are by all appearances cat hoarders and in the posts about sick Cat give details that seem to support the hoarding assumption. Including a post in which Guy states that Cat might be dead under all the mess in the living room.

Some people who troll Crazy Internet Guy cause he's fun to mock notice this and become actually concerned.
A ladyperson offers to pay all vet bills if they will find Cat a new home after with people who can afford to care for Cat.

Guy refuses, calls it "concern trolling" that it's not a real offer and just some way for Ladyperson to control them (?).

Ladyperson ammends the conditions to just allowing Animal Control to inspect the place to make sure it is a good home for Cat (and other cats in home)

Guy refuses still. So The Internet finds the complaint form for Guy's local Animal Control and reports him.

Guy gets mad and makes a post in which he claims to have snapped Cat's neck and asks The Internet if they're happy now, and then deletes it a few minutes later.

Animal Control shows up (in the only part that I find funny about the whole mess), and Guy apparently freaks out, and won't let them in, yelling through the door, and such.

Anyway, they now have 48 hours to have Cat seen by a vet or Animal Control will get a search warrant. So now they're having to quickly come up with money for the vet visit

Why is this upsetting to me? I am a recovered cat hoarder. I was a crazy cat lady. That part of me really wanted to side with Guy in this, because I can put myself back in that place and remember how terrified of someone calling Animal Control on me I would have been. Up until he refused help and started whining about how The Internet is "literally trying to take food out of my mouth".

There were many times that I didn't eat, so that I could buy food for my eleventybillion cats, I may have had way too many, and it was definitely a problem, but they were my babies, damnit. Nothing would have stood in the way of getting them help if they needed it.

Yes a condition to find the cat a new home after the vet would have sucked. But I'd rather have the cat alive and well and happy with someone else than dead with me. Yes it sucks that the Internet got involved in personal business, but personal business was publicly posted, and now the cat will be getting help.
