As this year approached, the year I leave my 20s,
I thought it was going to be terrible, oh no I'm aging, etc.

However, as of the past few years something has happened.
For the first time I feel like that I'm FINALLY learning from my mistakes.
And learning to avoid them.
As stated before, I'm sure I'll be able to think up all kinds of brand new stupid,
but am finally learning to stop doing a lot of old stupid.

And the odd thing is, that this didn't come about directly from the mistakes.
I didn't do something stupid, hit the 1000th time and go "hey that's dumb, quit it"
Take relationships and friendships for example.
I've had a lot of bad ones, I've made a lot of bad choices,
and I kept repeating them.

It wasn't until I had good friendships and relationships.
(and/or just accepted that I've now had friends over a decade who aren't going anywhere)

I think it's the comparison, the good *ships contrasted with the bad,
seemingly suddenly developed the ability to notice things in a different light.

I don't know if I'm expressing this properly.
Just happy that I get to finally leave a bunch of stupid behind,
make way for more stupid, and fun, and happy and sad and ... morelife.
yaylife.

As the time of having ac adapter which hopefully results in working lappy, looms,
I'm becoming nervous about my decision to go all linux on lappy.
When I'm nervous I rant, often silly rants.
This is how I imagine my computers respond to me anyway:

"I'm stuck on the whole windows drivers way of dealing with hardware."

"Seems like that linux is born knowing what hardware is, but not automatically what to do with it, windows is born knowing what to do with things, but not what hardware is.

" 'here windows, have a printer' 'OMG WHAT IS THIS THING WHAT DOES IT DO WHY DID YOU ATTACH IT TO ME OMG PLS TELL ME WHAT IT IS!!!???11'*crash*"

" 'here linux, have a printer' 'oh nifty, a printer .... what. you want to print something? ... why?' "

"So I'm sorta expecting the conversation to go like this:
me: 'So lappy, you're all linuxy now, are you aware you have pcmcia slots?' Lappy: 'Yes sir I do!' me: 'Awesome, now, do you see a wireless internet card in one?' lappy: 'Yes sir I do! Wireless internet card, status is peachy-keen!' me: '... so where's my internets?' lappy: 'what?' "

And hello windows 98, bleh.

So the USPS tracking is the most ridiculous thing ever.
It tells me on Monday that the AC adapter is GOING TO BE shipped.
Says that it has received tracking information but thing isn't on its way yet.

Then nothing.

Then at 5pm today it tells me that it was delivered at 11:11,
normal mail time.
Less than five minutes later J comes through the door with it in his hand.

So, we're windows until J's weekend is over,
so I can be next to desktop to look shit up and ask people questions.

It's already once done the suddenly unplugged thing,
I was worried that maybe this dc jack was going now,
after all this.

But I shut it down, second it was shut down, without it moving at all,
and it saw the ac adapter cord again.
Maybe it's not a hardware issue,
we can hope maybe it is windows?

Whatever, working for now,
*knock on wood*
