all ready for bed then remembered i want to post so i came back
upheaval at work
right now i work for "company B" and B is contracted by "company A" to preform a service which A has a federal contract to provide.
A decided that it no longer wants B to run our office
A decided it's going to swoop in, remove B replace B's HR with it's own and start managing us.
this was announced today(now yesterday), reps were there from A to meet with us
we got pulled out of our cubies about 20 employees at a time to attend these meetings
"there will be no layoffs"
on sept 27th at midnight we will just cease to be employees of B
and if between now and this date, supposedly in the first two weeks of aug,
if in this time frame A has offered us a job, at midnight on that date will we become employees of A
they are claiming everyone will be offered the same job we're doing now, with A
we are skeptical
IF we are offered and accept the job with A, all of our benefits, vacation, sick time, etc will still figure in our hire date with B, even tho we will be new employees of A we will be treated as if we have been employed with A since our hire date with B
confused yet?
we are.
the whole thing makes me nervous, i'll feel better once i get my job offer.
the good thing is, that none of our "personal information" will be transferred over,
name, tax information, date of hire, copies of id documents will
but things like occurrences, attendance, any writeups or such will not, that will stay in the HR files of B and allegedly A is not allowed to see it.
which means, if the management structure stays the same, as of sept 28th i will have a clean slate, zero occurrences and be eligible for promotion again.
