i had a day of the suck
but i'm not as down about it as one would expect

i spent a half an hour driving a 4 mile stretch of fwy this morning
since i leave way early i only ended up being 17 minutes late to work

good thing: i will not receive an occurrence for it, as the accident which caused it was all over the news and many people were made late because of it
bad thing: i will however not be eligible for perfect attendance this pay period. suck.

so anyhow, i'd woken up with a swollen throat remember?
no white spots, i figured i'd slept too soundly and had my mouth open to much while i slept, sounds silly but that does cause incidental swelling of my oversensitive throat

well got to work, had a meeting right off, then got out and did my job till first break
throat was feeling oddly bumpy and painful
so on first break went and looked in the mirror
more swollen and WHITE SPOTS!

shit.
informed UM, they gave me sanitary wipe things to clean the keyboard after i'd used it, cause i am coughing too. managed to work till lunch. talked to UM again.
i was NOT going to just leave and get an occurrence, nuh uh, not after already avoiding one that day.
so they say, nope we can't give you E-time
(go home with no pay for unworked portion but no occurrence)
until at least 11:30
so i went ahead and worked until my last break at midnight, then they gave me E-time

off i went, talked to kal on cell, talked to SIG on fonaim
suddenly realized what that noise my car just started making reminded me of
omg, i've never put oil in this thing!
omg, look at the temperature gage!

did i quick u-turn headed back to wal-mart, called kal again to ask what kind of oil
bought oil, put in, went back on my way
5 mins later that noise disappeared and suddenly i'm zooming smoother

whew, how stupid chick would that have been? to have broke my engine because i FORGOT cars need oil. jesus eris.

i'll actually check the dipstick in the daylight and even if it's ok probably still go buy some more oil and keep in trunk.

ok then, got to ER
after all the check in and wait nonsense i saw the dr
i explain to him that i think it's been over a year
(i think almost 2, kal would know)
since i've had strep, but when i get it i get it fast, and bad
he seemed disbelieving when i said symptoms only manifested this morning.
so he grabs the wooden stick thing and throat light
makes a noise somewhere between a snork and a chuckle

says 'you weren't kidding when you said you get it fast and bad, that's defiantly strep'

hehehe, silly unbelievers

prescriptions, nice to meet you small talk, here's initial dose, bye bye now.

home ......
ahhhhhhhhhh
i guess i'm just happy it wasn't worse, or just happy to be home
i'm not on fire nor is my house so this day wasn't really a BAD day

i like sleep.

the upside of being overly susceptible to strep is that conversely i'm almost instantly responsive to antibiotics.

leaving the hospital last night they gave me first dose of antibiotics and 4 doses of vicodin.

well the vicodin made me oversleep the almost instant feel better properties of the antibiotic, *sigh* woke up about 1:00 throat much more swollen feeling like shit.

got my ass over to wal-greens, good news is it only took like 40 mins instead of the hour they told me, and it only cost $33 for both prescriptions and that's sans insurance, they were going to try look up aetna and see, but then they told me the without insurance price and i said nevermind, that's fine.

then while waiting i called strings (italian fud) next do' and ordered take out.
curse of strep, i get hungry, which is good anyway because if i can get stuff past my throat it makes my stomach not get upset.

so, home, taken both pills, letting them settle then will attempt my fud
ravioli and salad
love the strings salad soooo much, i hope i can eat it.

mmmmmmm

i managed to eat all my food
stomach is happy
a nice content woozy from the vicodin

that mexican guy has been being ubersweet to me lately
which makes sick a whole lot easier

if i can manage food past strep it always makes drinking water easier
but this is i think the second time i've been given vicodin or something like instead of ibuprofen, and it really does numb my throat, which makes it easier to drink water even not during eating. that's very helpful. water is essential to sick, especially throat sick.

i think i shall offturn of computer and become horizontal and read, probably pass out.

ohmygod
swollen to all heck
white spots gone

awoke NEEDING more strings salad,
gonna run over and get, i think the last vicodin i took was around 4:30 and i'm not feeling drug woozy so i should be ok to drive.

we shall see, hey?
