The roots of the abuse lie in our family, religion, and society. We condemn prostitution, yet it serves an obvious need; were it eradicated, I fear that rape and molestation would drastically increase. Perhaps if male and female prostitution were legitimated, sexual crimes would diminish. I doubt that much progress will be made until the nature of the problem is understood. We need spot-specific programs to clarify and deal with abuse, and education to diminish abuse in the future. Certain fundamental attitudes need to be revised, such as the notion that women are inherently inferior to men, or that might makes right, or that sex is sinful, and because these may be embedded in religion the problem of reform is monstrous.

so i log in, read about, and see that i'm ignored but not forgotten
