in related news i had a nice phone conversation with my mother that really had nothing to do with anything
just nice conversation in which neither of us stepped on issues that caused arguments

and i realized (probably not for the first time) that she's never going to change so i might as well avoid the drama filled fuck off letter because that's really my own issues
granted there's no excuse for the things she sometimes does, but i can choose how i react to it

i still have no plans to go to her xmas gathering

but if i want to point out to her what my issues are then i should avoid the course of action that can be construed as 'fuck off i hate you, you're a horrible influence on me'
why? because if i'm trying to piss her off and i succeed she's just going to start stalking me

step one: eris stop letting the echo of your mother in your head influence your every action and causing you to feel guilty for being who you are.

she can be horribly evil and uncaring, but i think it's gotten to the point where my perception of her is larger than life and i'm obsessing,
