hoveringsombreroOne of the odd things about being such a movie whore,
is that I often see movies I don't really like, for reasons other than entertainment.
The other night I rented Flightplan,
Jodie Foster is not aging well and seems to have lost the ability to look anything
other than constipated.
But the idea that 90% of the movie was filmed entirely within an airplane construct
was immensely fascinating.
Watched the little making of on the DVD which explained how they built it and all.
All of the blocking for each in-plane shot was figured out before the set was even built.
They built the plane set to those specifications.
As I was returning flightplan to the red box I had to wait my turn, a guy in front of me was renting something, and kept accidentally swiping his card backwards so it wasn't reading it.
After watching him do this about 4 times I (trying to sound as polite as possible) said
"Try turning the card around, strip needs to face the other way."
Guy blinked, said thanks, snickered at himself and swiped his card properly.
As he was walking away he turned around, walked backwards for a few steps and said;
"Hey, thanks again, next time you rent use promo code 'wolf' you'll get a free rental."
See what happens when you're nice to people?
So last night I used the promo code and rented Weatherman.
So very angsty, Cage is having the same one expression problem as Foster.
But I loved the movie, reminded me of Falling Down in a way that I can't quite put my finger on exactly.
But I'm tired of this entry and talking about movies now.
As to the subject line, while I was watching weatherman suddenly the home phone rang,
I looked at the caller ID window and it said "eris fon."
WTF?
How very <a href="http://imdb.com/title/tt0375210/>White Noise</a>, except it was from me, and I'm pretty sure I'm not dead. Seemed I'd been sitting on my fon for a while, and my ass had figured out how to speed dial 4. I'm also sure my ass isn't dead.
